The Nightlings began with a simple fascination with the creatures and stories that might exist just beyond the edge of the familiar.
What started as individual illustrations has slowly developed into an imagined world of lantern bearers, ancient forests, strange creatures and stories waiting to be discovered.
A world still taking shape
The Nightlings Realm is an ongoing personal project, and I'm discovering it as I build it. Characters appear first, then their surroundings, their relationships and the stories that connect them.
Some ideas remain as sketches; others develop into illustrations, characters and fragments of a much larger story.
